Corey Anderson misses the fastest ODI fifty
Today,New Zealand's new sensation Corey Anderson missed the fastest half-century ever in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) .He was out for 44 off 17 balls in the second ODI against India at Hamilton. Anderson smashed five sixes and two fours to score a brilliant 44, before he was caught by Shikhar Dhawan off Ishant Sharma in the 39th over of the rain-interrupted match.
Anderson, already holding the record of the fastest ODI century, looked in good rhythm as he smashed the Indian bowlers all around the park. This was after the play resumed after the second rain interruption.
New Zealand were 178/2 at 33.2 overs when rain stopped play and when the match was resumed, Anderson played this disastrous innings with which Kiwis scored 100 runs in the last 9 overs reaching 271/7. But India's target is made as 297 as per the Duckworth-Lewis method.
