Sania and Tecau lose Australian Open mixed doubles final

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her Romanian partner Horia Tecau failed to win the Australian open mixed doubles title as they were defeated by the French-Canadian duo Kristina Mladenovic and Daniel Nestor in straight sets in the final today. 

Sania, eagerly waiting for her 3rd mixed doubles Grand Slam title and 2nd in Australian Open, and Tecau lost 3-6, 2-6 against the French-Canadian duo in a 58-minute contest at the Rod Laver Arena. 

The French-Canadian dominated throughout the game. Sania and Tecau could not compete with their opponents in service, return and rallies though they had lesser number of unforced errors. 

Sania and Tecau had lost to the same duo in the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon mixed doubles last year. Earlier Indian duo Sania and Mahesh Bhupathi won the Australian mixed doubles title in 2009.
